IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER (okay, so, numerical order. Sue me)
- Custom work. This is stuff that I don't share much about, because it is all one-off, one of a kind work, for which I was hired by assorted folks to do some work they weren't prepared to do for themselves. For example, I am doing a salt cellar exactly as deep as the salt pinching fingers of the recipient, four custom glass privacy panels for two very different homes, still working on some gentlemens gifts for a local boutique, a yellow handled camp knife, a fountain pen for an acquaintance.
- Speciality work. Repairs. I am duplicating some beehive spindles and doing a seat repair on an antique piano bench. I am making a hand-cut metal memorial plate for a stone memorial bench. Rebuilding some pocket knives which have seen more wear and tear than most knives can survive.
- Production work. Pens. Knives (new, and recovery projects). Furniture -- which is something I have always been drawn to, but never actually DONE. This week I realized that I have the power to put some awesome insectile legs on a really amazingly figured walnut side table. Wouldn't you like to see that?!
If I manage to get back to this web site updating business before the end of time, I will do a little photo series to share the process of building a knife handle. I built one today from flame box elder that I am pretty excited to see finished.
... in other news, I hope to see figure out where the hell InstaGram is sending my photos when it I tell it to send them to Twitter and Flickr. Because they are NOT going to my own feeds. o.O
