In Aztec, New Mexico. Men in kilts. Bagpipes. Whiskey. Caber toss!
Also, me! selling my things that I make. Hoping to have the 2016 coloring calendar ready for this event, but I have my doubts. We shall see. What definitely will be there is stained glass work, handmade / hand colored prints, and wooden pens and knives with the grippy bits made of fancy wood.
Check out the Aztec Highland Games website for schedule, directions, prices, and other useful info. I've never even been up to that corner of the state, so I am very much looking forward to this trip. I've heard it's nice up there!
Mmmm, caber toss.
I am busting my thumbs to get all the blocks ready to print in a timely fashion to send away for calendar manufacture.
In other adventures, my plumbing went into full revolt over the weekend. Hard to do any printing when I can't wash up...
If you have some notion of having a custom piece done in time for holiday gift giving, please talk to me as soon as possible. To you, this is just the beginning of August. To me, this is the steep downhill bit of the roller coaster part of the year, which comes just before all the loops.
More specifically, if you want a custom writing instrument, shaving set, knife or other wooden item, please don't wait to contact me. These things take lots of time, and sometimes have uncontrollable factors. I have to order the pen mechanisms and knife blanks, for example. For glass work, I have pretty much everything I need, but it still requires a fair amount of shop time.
Probably the lovechild of a three-toed sloth and a busy bee.
