Coming up on the end of the year craziness. The parties, the weather, the gifting, the eating.
Oh, the eating. <3
There's a list of my final events for this year on the main page, and I want to say a quick word about those. Lately a lot of folks have asked me about my holiday shopping events, because (bless you, Albuquerque!) a LOT of us like to shop local for the seasonal gift occasions. I think that's fantastic, and am grateful for all of you who do that.
It makes me feel like a rock star when folks come up to me at events and say, "I saw you at ______, and had to come visit you here!" So, if you're attending one of those last five events I'm doing this year, please come say hi! Whether or not you make a purchase in my booth, that rock star feeling is awesome, and I will be very happy to see you, and to say hi.
ALSO -- please keep in mind that I bring my refill and repair kit to every show. So if you have a pen or other item that needs a little love, please bring it with you. Some things have to be fixed on the bench in the shop, but a lot of little adjustments can be made anywhere. I am always willing to take a look at pens I didn't sell you, too. Service is part of what I do, so don't be shy about asking for checkups.
At this time of year, I always like to remind folks that carrying and using your own pen, everywhere you go, REALLY cuts down on your exposure to germs. Since this is cold & flu season, that could make a big difference. The pens you might grab at the bank, in stores, at the office, in schools, restaurants, and doctors offices see a lot of different hands in any given day. Save yourself from all that and just carry your own pen.
In other news!
I have begun working with Albuquerque Laser Engraving Services to translate some of my graphic designs into new work for next year. We are still very much in the exploratory phase of this collaboration, but I can already tell it is going to yield some truly epic results.
In addition to the laser cutting, the new work will incorporate more resins and inlays into my pieces, yielding more decorative items in additional to the functional work I already do. One of the planned lines is a jewelry series, which many of you have asked about in the past.
I am super excited about this new partnership, and very much looking forward to sharing photos of my new projects as they come to fruition! Also, if any of you have been looking for a laser engraver... I know a guy. :)
