That ... was the noise. Let's get on with the news.
The Rail Yards Market continues to be a congenial and lively venue. Lots of fun interactions with folks, both as a seller and a buyer. (Turkey eggs! Local cheddar! Agua Fresca! Other things that aren't even food!) (But I DO like the food.) Every time I escape my booth and visit the neighbors, I find awesome stuff.
Both new steel and rescue knives are ongoing work, and I will be adding some of the truly excellent Swedish Morakniv blades to my selection, with custom handles (of course!). I will have carving blades and two styles of all-purpose Mora. As well, I will soon have some new petite locking folders with a sleek black finish! The first two I made are making their way to their commissioned home, but you can see what they look like (along with their matching fountain pens) in my Instagram stream as soon as they are delivered. You'll dig 'em.
Also look for some new stained glass by the end of the month. I have some new commissioned work happening, but also some adventurous new designs to try out. Since it's already a billion degrees outside, there is no real strain added by firing up a soldering iron... Further planned new-ness will include more turned wood (not pens - containers and other objects), as well as some installation artwork combining several techniques and materials in ways I am hoping you haven't seen before. I expect some serious oohing and ahhing!
In the comic I drew of How This Summer Is Going To Go, I should be getting into a couple of galleries before too long, and maybe signing up for a couple of additional festival venues. I will keep you posted, if sporadically.
Last, but DEFINITELY not least, I want to thank all the people who have ordered work from my studio, or purchased from me at one of my sales venues. Whether it was a small item or a big one, it means a lot to me to be your source for aesthetically pleasing and generally functional gifts and household goods. Also, when someone is really jazzed about something I made, it fills me with pride and a shared joy. Thank you!!
