My work is as original as any can be, which is to say, I did not invent myself in a vacuum — there was an organic process which advanced each time my worldview made contact with the actual world. Here you can browse through my life and brain. Over time, persons, places or things which made a keen impression on my outlook will be cataloged here. It is going to take some time to get them all added, so check back occasionally.
I guess we should just take it as writ that everyone on this list is a genius. David Byrne inspires me in so many ways, and has done as long as I have known who he was. His music and lyrics, his photography, his writing, his passion for urban bicycling. Although I doubt we have much else in common, I think our worldviews are compatible. In particular, Byrne seems to have a willingness to try things simply because he has not tried them before, and to share his ideas that make only the tiniest of gestures in the way of mainstream. Not to say he's that wacky contrarian type, but that he doesn't worry a hell of a lot about fitting in; it seems to me he mostly worries about exploring, and sharing, and looking for awesome in a world spring loaded to share crass, common, negative things.
